I'm a North Carolina-based writer who's spent 25 years wrangling words for newspapers, magazines, businesses, nonprofits and other organizations.
Supreme Court decisions. Corporate bankruptcies. Tragic accidents. Important scientific discoveries. And much more.
I'm good at diving into new subjects quickly and extracting the most important and compelling elements. And I'm good at turning that information into meaningful, memorable stories.
In 2013 I left a steady paycheck and health insurance to work as an independent writer and consultant. Before that, I had been a PR agency vice president, newspaper journalist and think tank communications director. I also teach in Elon University's School of Communication.
These days I'm focused on business, science and health care. You can see some of my published work here. In addition to news and feature articles, I also create web content, draft annual reports, write case studies and white papers, and more.
I have an English degree from N.C. State University and an MBA from Elon University.
